John Goto is a British artist who is best known for his photo-digital artworks, where he loads his images on to a computer and using a programme like photoshop to cut different elements from his images and merging them into another image, to create something completely different.

Pasturelands, 2000-2001.
These images, are examples of the images he has produced during his career. They are all apart of the same collection called 'High Summer'. This series of images portray the style of 18th century English gardens and 17th century french landscape paintings (Poussin and Lorrain). He then incorporates modern day difficulties/problems for example the first image has images that portray the foot-and-mouth, problem that the British farms had problems with a few years ago.My image is something similar to this in the way that i have taken elements from some of the photographs that i took when i was on holiday down south and edited them into a landscape image from within Burton. There are many differences between my work and John Gotos images for example my images is black and white and the majority of his work is done in colour. The work Goto creates usually focuses mainly on some of the issues that have gone on in society at the time of the image being created, my image is currently just an experiment, i like how you can take a group of images that are completely unrelated and mix them up to create something completely different and interesting.
